Evaluation Methodology

Reshot combines deterministic DOM and accessibility-tree rules with rendered state probes and guided human evaluation. The result is evidence for a qualified decision, not automatic certification.

Outcome model

Rules report passed, failed, cantTell, inapplicable, or untested. Unmeasured criteria never appear as passing. Each evaluation records its rule version, applicability, assumptions, input aspects, criterion mapping, checkpoint, context, provenance, and retained evidence.

Rendered-state probes cover supported conditions such as reflow, zoom, text spacing, focus visibility or obscuration, target size, overlap, clipping, orientation, keyboard traversal, and state change. A probe is mechanical only when the captured inputs support that conclusion. AI or vision output remains advisory unless a frozen versioned contract passes calibration.

Coverage boundary

Every WCAG 2.2 A/AA criterion is represented, including those that require human judgment. Automated coverage varies by criterion and interface state. Worker failures, unavailable services, billing reconciliation, cantTell, and human-review findings do not become false accessibility failures.
